It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few seconds.

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has 100% in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or during the night when you are trying to sleep.
